Informs Development Project

The Informs service was successfully integrated into the Intute portfolio in 2007, as a result of a project which transferred the service from the University of Huddersfield. The Final Report for this project is available here.

When the integration project ended, Intute received a strong message from the community that they wanted to see Informs developed beyond the scope of the original project in order to achieve its full potential. The new development project will run from May to October 2008, as part of the JISC Resource Discovery programme, and will:

• Make a full accessibility assessment of Informs, establishing levels of responsibility (where appropriate) and implementing new versions or tools to improve accessibility as far as possible.
• Implement and test a range of enhancements to Informs which were identified as part of the initial Intute Informs integration project, incorporating community engagement, social networking and Web 2.0 technologies.

Exchange of Experience Workshops

Two Informs workshops were held in Manchester and London in September 2008. New Informs developments were previewed, and the workshops offered an opportunity for Informs users to meet and exchange experiences, tips and information.
